However, I think you misquoted Johan Agebrand, Volvo Trucks North American. I believe if you check with Mr. Agebrand, he would have said, “You increase the speed BEFORE going up the hill, and roll out going down the hill…” The typical predictive cruise control speed profile, the vehicle’s speed decreases when traveling on uphill grades except for small rises prior to a large hill. If conditions favor it, a driver will increase speed prior to an uphill grade, but not when on the uphill grade itself.
