Deadline closing on DTOPS refund requests

WASHINGTON — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) says it will continue to accept requests for a refund for Decal and Transponder Online Procurement System fees via electronic transmission or U.S. Mail only through May 1, 2009.

These per arrival user fee refunds apply to any conveyance with a valid transponder or decal that was subject to a per arrival user fee charge during the effective dates of the DTOPS contingency plan from January 1, 2009 through February 28, 2009.

CBP says the National Finance Center will accept requests for the next two weeks from carriers with copies of all receipts or other proof of payment for the per arrival fee payment.
