Pete adds Fusion Stop and Auto-Go to Model 579
Peterbilt is now offering Fusion Stop and Auto-Go as part of its Bendix Fusion collision mitigation suite on the Model 579.
The new feature aids drivers in heavy traffic situations, applying active cruise and braking to 0 km/h.
It will hold the truck in place after an automatic braking event and then resume acceleration to the initial, pre-set cruise speed without driver intervention, so the truck can advance forward while maintaining a safe following distance.
The feature is integrated into the truck’s 15-inch digital display, combining visual and audible warnings.
“The Model 579 is the most technologically advanced and fuel-efficient truck on the road today. The integration of these new advanced safety system features and functionality enhance the driver’s experience and convenience,” said Jake Montero, assistant general manager, sales and marketing with Peterbilt.
